RIP Maurice Sendak. Thank you for showing us the slightly darker side of children’s book, for being an inspiration, and for stepping outside of the box more than once. Thank you for your books and the literature you’ve left behind.

aka i napped too much today and now i’m wide awake
I think english classes and lack of sleep have made me more contemplative than normal. I’m telling myself that all we can do is live and learn. Experience and participate. That’s all we really can do. Of course, we can all choose how to do it. We choose what to be involved in, what not to be, what we support and what we don’t. We’ve all made mistakes at one time or another. I’ve made plenty. But as long as I have things - be it passions, activities, people or if you’re lucky all three in one - that ground me, I’ll be okay. I don’t think helping or doing your part is offensive or showing that you’re better than someone else. I think it’s just helping. Of course some people do things for the wrong reasons, but I would like to believe that most people help for the good reasons. Because they care and they love. So that is how I’m going to live my life, whenever possible. Caring and loving.
